Decided to finally take the plunge and purchase something I’ve been mulling over for awhile now.

It’s a 2000 model, 40k miles, 6MT. All stock apart from the wheels and the Flowmaster exhaust. Drives perfectly, but I’m going to have to get used to crawling over speed bumps again.

I’m a happy man.

I haven’t fully decided yet. I still have my Cube for the time being, so I might save this for spirited drives and autocross. I want to try and keep the miles relatively low. But on the other hand, it’s a hell of a lot of fun to drive and it’s tame enough to handle my daily commute. Time will tell, I suppose.

Very nice! I am doing a regular but low intensity search for a bargain C5 that I can beat on, but I hope to join you in the next year or so (as per the end of this post ).

It looks like you went for a low-mileage, clean example, so I imagine that you paid a price in the mid-teens. Care to share the details?

It feels nice. A bit longer of a throw than my old S2000, but the overall feel as I row through the gears is wonderful.

$14k cash. I did consider looking more seriously into saving a few thousand in exchange for a car with another hundred thousand miles, but I have no regrets. Almost everything is in such great shape.

Yeah, I’m probably going to go back to stock lenses in back. I think they work on the car, but I’d prefer to err on the side of safety.

Sounds like you found the right deal. In the southeast US that car would probably be priced between $15k and $16k right now, depending on details, with a number of people asking even more.

I think they are just acrylic overlays. Haven’t tried yet, but it looks like they come off and the the stock units are underneath.
